Yeah we know… you’ve been shopping your whole life, but bridal shopping is a little bit different. Below are some of the top questions brides have about the shopping process.
This is my first time shopping—how many people should I bring and how long should I plan on being there?
We’ll never rush you through the process, so we are one of the few shops that schedule all of our appointments for a full 2 hours. For many, this is enough time to find your dress (yup, even on your very first visit) and if you’re not ready to decide, after the two hours, it’s probably a good idea to give yourself a rest. If you’re checking out multiple stores, we recommend that you limit your shopping to two or three shops (at the most!) in one day. We allow 6 guests for our standard bridal appointments, and allow more with our upgraded appointment options.
What items do I need to bring to my appointment?
Bring yourself, your support people and an open mind! Remember that our stylists are specifically trained to read your style, listen to your wants/needs and help guide you to the gown of your dreams! Beyond that, we usually recommend bringing or wearing comfortable or your preferred undergarments. All of our gowns come equipped with cups and bust support, so we leave it up to your comfort level on whether you would like to wear your bra or not!
Do you charge for appointments?
While a card is required to be on file to secure your appointment and upgraded appointments are available at an additional charge, our standard bridal appointments are completely complimentary! Should you need to schedule a follow up appointment to revisit your favorites at Blush, we offer one additional complimentary appointment. Subsequent visits will incur a $100 booking fee so we encourage you to make sure you have you have everything you need to say "yes!" with you at your second appointment!
How much do your bridal gowns cost?
At Blush it is really important to us that we provide brides with well-designed gowns at different price points. Our gowns range from $1,300 up to $3,500. The majority of the bridal gowns in our shop are between $1600-$2200.
What size samples do you have to try on during my appointment?
Most of the samples in our shop are a bridal size 6-30, which equates to street sizes 4-28. 40% of our inventory is exclusively plus size, as we believe every bride deserves to feel her most beautiful. Our plus size wedding gowns all offer great support and structure while not sacrificing style. We have all sorts of tricks to help you get a close(r) vision of what you will look like on your wedding day. We have pedestals to stand on to add length, clips to close in fabric, and panels to add fabric.
How long does it take to receive the bridal gown once it is ordered?
Please allow 6-9 months for delivery on bridal gowns and 2-3 months for the alterations. We recommend ordering your gown no less than 9 months prior to your wedding date. Most of our bridal companies do provide rush delivery. Rush time periods and charges vary by each designer. Please confirm delivery times and prices when placing your order.
Do you offer in-house alterations?
No, we do not have in-house alterations. But, we have a fabulous (and affordable) seamstress that we work with consistently. Please allow 2-3 months for your alterations on your gown.
I’ve heard brides say that they just “knew” when they had found their dress. Is this a typical reaction?
Every bride’s reaction is a little bit different. Some girls are shoppers and want to try on lots of dresses and other girls are quite comfortable falling in love with the very first dress that they try.. You might surprise yourself and fall in love with a dress that you never would have guessed you would have liked. Usually if a bride is reluctant to get out of the dress, it can be a sign that it’s the one!
Do you have dresses to purchase off the rack?
Most of the dresses in our store are special ordered and require a minimum of six months lead time. If your timeline is shorter than 8 months, please visit our sister store, Refined Bridal to take your dress home with you the same day!
What is a trunk show?
A trunk show is a special weekend at Blush to see more of a specific designer’s collection and often to see the latest pieces in the collection at a 10% discount! At any given time, we may only carry 6-12 dresses from a designer. Trunk shows do book out so we recommend scheduling your appointment in advance. When should I order my veils and accessories?
Most people are surprised to learn that most of Blush’s veils and accessories are made to order and are not sold directly off the rack. While this means that you know the piece is being made especially for you, it also means that it takes some patience for the piece to arrive in the shop. Standard production time for veils and accessories is between 6 and 8 weeks. If you hadn't purchased accessories during your initial appointment, your "finishing touches" appointment is a great opportunity to nail down your final look. Trust that your expert stylist will be able to help you put together the perfect look!
Do you carry bridesmaids/mother's/etc.?
We do not, but our sister store Refined Bridal Co. does carry an exclusive Mother of the Occasion collection! The first Thursday of every month they host a pop-up shop dedicated to mother's special occasion wear!
